Kent Police arrest man after weapons found in car in Maidstone

This haul shows some of the weapons discovered by police today.

Officers found a hammer, three knives, a bag of ball bearings and a catapult in a vehicle in Loose Road, Maidstone.

Kent Police seized a number of offensive weapons (22301127)

A police spokesman said 49-year-old man from the area has been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.

He remains in custody while the investigation continues.

In a tweet, West Kent Supt, Warren Franklin congratulated the team for the bust saying: 'Great work. Well done'.

The vehicle was stopped just after 3pm today.
