An articulated lorry that jack-knifed on the Lidsing Road in Boxley, earlier this morning, blocking the carriageway in both directions, has now been cleared.

Kent Highways reported the road open again at 11.55pm.

The road had been shut between Dunn Street Road and Pilgrims Way after the accident around 9am this morning, leading to a build-up of traffic elsewhere as drivers sought alternative routes.

The road is closed

The heavy congestion on Royal Engineers Road through Maidstone, near the White Rabbit roundabout, has also eased.
