Delays on M20 near Maidstone due to incident involving broken down vehicle

Drivers are facing long delays on the M20 due to an incident involving a broken down vehicle.

Traffic is queuing for four miles in both directions between junctions 6 for Aylesford and 7 for Maidstone.

National Highways says traffic has now been released in both directions.

However, there are still delays of 35 minutes above usual journey times.

Traffic monitoring tool Inrix reports stationary traffic and delays are due to an incident requiring the attendance of the emergency services at Detling Hill.
