A woman was left in shock after a lorry driver shunted her car across the motorway before driving away without checking to see if she was injured or exchange insurance details.
Danielle Gordon was driving to work just before 8.30am on Monday, February 5 when her black Vauxhall Astra was struck by a lorry between junctions eight and seven on the M20 towards London.
The 33-year-old from Ashford says that after being pushed from the middle of the carriageway to the far right lane the lorry driver pulled in to the hard shoulder to check his own vehicle for damage before driving off.
Her car was left with a dented passenger side, scratches, and damage to the wing-morror which left her unable to see traffic, making it harder to move the car to the hard shoulder.
Another helpful driver, who told Mrs Gordon he was a maintenance engineer working for Tesco, drove her car across the motorway to the hardshoulder before recovering his own vehicle.
The mother, who had dropped her three-year-old son off at nursery shortly before, was thankful he was not in the car when the accident happened.
"This lorry just came out of nowhere. It shunted me and I lost control of the vehicle", she said.
"I don't know how but I managed to steer the car so it didn't hit anything.
"I'm still in shock. I Keep going through it in my head, the whole situation has left me shaken up a bit."
Unfortunately, a lack of CCTV of the collision means that Kent Police is relying on anybody who saw the collision or who has dashcam footage to get in touch on 01622 604100, quoting 5-0210.
