Police say all lanes on the M20 have now reopened after an accident involving an oil tanker earlier this evening.

One lane had been closed on the coastbound carriageway near junction three for the M26, where three vehicles were involved in a crash.

Police and highways teams are at the scene and are warning of delays, but say no one was reported injured. Kent Police RPU has since tweeted that the incident has now cleared.

The police also tweeted safety advice for motorists involved in crashes on a motorway or dual carriageway.

Meanwhile there are still severe tailbacks on the London-bound carriageway between junction eight and nine.
