Kent has a new assistant chief constable in the shape of Maidstone's Matthew Nix.
Mr Nix, 46, will move from his current post as Chief Supt and divisional commander for Mid and West Kent at Maidstone to the new temporary role on Sunday, September 9.
“I am hugely proud to have been appointed in such a prestigious post in Kent," he said.

"I’ll be specifically looking at local policing and partnership working across the county. That’s covering everything from Tunbridge Wells to Margate or Edenbridge to Deal. It will be a real challenge but one I am really looking forward to.

The new appointment, by Kent Police Authority, follows the announcement that assistant chief constable Andy Adams is moving to Hertfordshire Constabulary.
Acting chairman of Kent Police Authority, Mike Hill said: "This is a really important appointment with a great deal of responsibility managing the three policing divisions covering the county."
