A Maidstone man has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering after police seized almost three tonnes of tobacco.

The 33-year-old was arrested in Southampton on Tuesday after a nearby house was raided.

The excise duty evaded on the tobacco found there is estimated to be around £560,000. Officers also seized £6,900 in cash.
