Maidstone: Woman pushed to the ground and handbag snatched in St Peter's Street

Police are searching for a man who pushed a shopper to the ground and stole her handbag in Maidstone.

The victim - in her 60s - was left shaken and bruised after the robbery in St Peter's Street near Asda Living at midday yesterday.

The woman was helped by paramedics. Her handbag is understood to have been later recovered by bystanders.

The suspect is described as white, about 30 years old, of medium build, 5ft 7ins tall, with blonde hair and wearing all sky blue clothing.
