Maidstone turns out to honour troops

Maidstone's new mayor Cllr Eric Hotson led the tributes and thanks to the town's soldiers at civic and freedom parade on Sunday.

Sappers from Invicta Barracks took the salute outside the Town Hall in glorious sunshine as Maidstone once again showed its appreciation of the bravery and service of 36 Engineers.

The troops exercised their right as Freemen of the Borough to march with bayonets fixed, colours flying and drums beating.
