Maidstone slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Harrow in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday.

With the strong wind in their favour, Harrow were much the better side in first half and came close to taking the lead after two minutes when a Ryan Watts effort hit the woodwork.

Stones keeper Jamie Turner did well to save from James Fraser after 18 minutes but was powerless to stop the same player slotting home the opening goal four minutes later.

The visitors rarely threatened the Harrow goal in the first half, but were still able to go in on level terms.

Jay Saunders played a long ball out of defence to James Pinnock (pictured) who was brought down in the box. Pinnock picked himself up and converted the spot-kick.

The second half was a scrappy affair with Stones unable to make the most of having the wind in their favour.

They paid the price after 79 minutes when Harrow broke quickly and Rocky Baptiste found himself in space and scored.

Stones nearly grabbed a point five minutes into stoppage time when Pinnock found substitute Steve Elliott but his shot hit the bar.

Tonbridge were 3-2 winners at Kingstonian in the Ryman League Premier Division.

Liam Harwood gave Tonbridge the lead after three minutes only for Bobby Traynor to equalise just four minutes later.

The Angels then scored a further two goals before the break, the second coming from Paul Booth after 36 minutes, before Traynor’s second of the match kept the home side in touch.
