Speculation still exists about where Maidstone United will be playing next season.

Talks are continuing about staying at Bourne Park, Sittingbourne but rumours persist they could move to Ryman League Division 1 South Ashford Town.

Chairman Paul Bowden-Brown’s planned meeting with Sittingbourne opposite number Andy Spice, about renewing their agreement, has still to take place. But it’s understood a move down the M20 to Homelands in a three-year deal could still be on the cards.

Mr Bowden-Brown (pictured) wouldn’t comment on fans’ forum views on going to Ashford, only to confirm that he has spoken to their chairman, Don Crosbie.

Any deal could be complicated by Mr Crosbie and joint-owner Tony Betteridge being at loggerheads over the future there, following a fall-out between the two men during the season.

Mr Bowden-Brown said: "I was due to meet Andy (Spice) but it was delayed by factors at my end. The fans talked about Ebbsfleet and Tonbridge but that was only speculation."
