A man has been arrested on suspicion of an assault in Maidstone today.

Police and ambulance crews were called by a man who said he had been attacked in Wallis Avenue, Park Wood, at about 11.15am.

A 58-year-old man was arrested 20 minutes later and was in police custody this afternoon.

It is thought the victim and alleged attacker were known to each other.

Part of Wallis Avenue was taped off and forensic investigators were on the scene until just after 2pm.
