A man has been charged with assaulting two people, including a police officer, following a town centre disturbance.

Police were called to Week Street, Maidstone at 6.50pm yesterday and Tomas Vencius was arrested.

The 32-year-old, of Emsworth Grove in Maidstone, was later charged with common assault and assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty.

He has been bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 3.
