Man arrested on suspicion of assault after police called to Bower Mount Road, Maidstone

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and damaging a police car after officers were called to a disturbance.

The officers were called to Bower Mount Road in Maidstone at about 8.30am.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene where a man was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage to two vehicles including a police patrol car.

"He remains in police custody while the investigation continues."

Traffic is said to have been building up in the area after police cordoned off part of the road. The road is now open.
