Maidstone: Man suffers serious back injury after falling into underpass at Wat Tyler Way

A man suffered a serious back injury when he fell into an underpass in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The victim, aged in his 20s, was taken to King's College Hospital, London, by road after falling from an unknown height into the cut through which runs under Wat Tyler Way, Maidstone.

An air ambulance, two paramedic crews and police were called to the scene by Sainsbury's at around 5.15am yesterday.

A Kent Police spokesman said it is not believed to be suspicious but inquires will continue into the exact circumstances.
