Maidstone man charged after police called to flats in Square Hill Road following knife incident

A man has been charged after allegedly threatening a group of people with a knife.

Nicholas Hudson of Square Hill Road, Maidstone, was arrested at the same location on Friday evening.

The 33-year-old's arrest came after reports of a man making threats to harm numerous people with a kitchen knife outside a block of flats at about 7pm.

While being taken into custody, he is alleged to have attempted to headbutt a police officer.

Mr Hudson has subsequently been charged with making threats to cause serious physical harm while in possession of a kitchen knife, making threats to kill and assaulting an emergency worker.

He remains in custody and is due to appear before Medway magistrates tomorrow.
