Aylesford's McDonald's has run out of bacon and some breakfasts are unavailable

Breakfast lovers are having to deal with a nightmare as McDonald's branches are running out of bacon across the country.

Bacon rolls, bacon and egg McMuffins and bacon and egg bagels are having to be dropped from the menu.

Scores of restaurants were hit with the shortage earlier this week including in Devon - but now it's reached Kent.

A sign was spotted in the drive-thru of the Hermitage Lane restaurant in Aylesford today.

It read: "We are unable to sell bacon rolls, bacon and egg McMuffins and bacon and egg bagels at the moment.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

McDonald's was yesterday forced to apologise for the shortage.

In a statement, the fast food giant said: "We're experiencing a short term issue with the supply of our bacon, meaning some breakfast items may be temporarily unavailable in some restaurants.

"We're working closely with our suppliers to sort this as soon as possible."
