Meat cleaver and wraps of suspected heroin found in drug arrest in St Peter’s Street, Maidstone

A meat cleaver and 35 wraps of suspected heroin have been seized after two men were arrested.

Zachary Dempster, of St Peter’s Street, and Tulane Sharp, of no fixed address, were charged with supplying class A substances after police spotted a person behaving suspiciously in St Peter’s Street, Maidstone on Tuesday (March 19).

After a search, two people were arrested and various quantities of drugs were seized, including 35 wraps of suspected heroin and cocaine a meat cleaver and three phones.

Dempster, 29 and Sharp, 46, were charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, and three counts of possessing class A drugs with the intent to supply.

Both suspects appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court yesterday (Wednesday) and have since been remanded in custody pending a further hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, April 15.
