A woman claims two men fired ball bearings at her car as she drove through Maidstone.

The suspects followed her around Shepway and Mote Park in a green Vauxhall Corsa and used a catapult to fire the missiles.

Two men, aged 22 and 28, who are both believed to be known to the victim – have been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

They have since been released on police bail until Thursday, November 27.

Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the green Corsa following the victim, who was driving a black Vauxhall Corsa.

The incident happened on Wednesday, September 24.

Detective Constable Madeline Brackley said: “This is an isolated incident, and we have not received any reports of further offences taking place, but we would like to speak to anyone who has any information.

“The offence happened in day light hours in and around the town centre when lots of people would have been out, whether on foot or in their cars.

"I’m hopeful that someone can come forward and provide us with information to help progress our investigation.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Brackley by calling 01622 604282, quoting crime reference YY/19500/14.

Alternatively contact Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
