Although she had only been missing a few hours, police said they were "very concerned" about her, and issued an appeal to help find her.

Inspector Wayne Page said: "We are very concerned for Cheryl’s welfare and are appealing to anybody who has seen her or knows of her whereabouts to contact us."

However, just after 9pm, police said she had been "safely located".

The spokesman added: "Our officers would like to thank all those who assisted with their inquiries and shared the appeal."
