A moped rider was airlifted to hospital after being involved in a collision on a main road.
The 55-year-old rider of a Piaggio Vespa was flown to a London hospital after suffering serious injuries on the A229 near the junction with Salts Avenue in Loose.
It is believed that no other vehicles were involved.
Police blocked off the section of road from Salts Avenue to the Linton crossroads by the Shell petrol garage following the accident at 5.55pm yesterday.
It has not been said how long the road was closed for but residents have confirmed that it was still shut past 9pm.
Crews from South East Coast Ambulance Service were also in attendance.
Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now carrying out enquiries and is appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact them.
Anyone with information is being asked to email police at sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk, quoting reference JG/104/22.
