A massive amount of rubble has been dumped on a field in Boughton Monchelsea.

A mountains of building material, including pipe work and a Jewson's bag, is blocking the entrance to the former land fill site off Brishing Lane, Boughton Monchelsea.

The plot is very popular with dog walkers but the bolt has been cut off the gate and it is feared more waste could be unloaded in the next few days.

A spokesperson for Maidstone Borough Council said: “We have visited the site and have discovered the waste to be on private land. We are currently trying to contact the owner to inform them so they can arrange for its removal.”

A resident who walks in the field every day said: "It's been empty for years and is now regularly used by dog walkers. I've let the council know but they've said it could take two days to deal with it. The most concerning thing is the bolt being cut off as they could come back.

"It was clearly planned. They couldn't have just driven past and found this place.

"It was dumped between 5pm last night and 2pm and the lady on the phone asked me if I'd seen who did it. I didn't but even if I had I wouldn't have approached them, I had my dog and my son with me."
