Nine police cars have descended on a town road.

The large turn-out was spotted at the junction of Boxley Road and James Street in Maidstone at about 6.15pm.

Multiple officers were seen in the road opposite the Esso petrol station.

The vehicles included an unmarked police car.

Police have been contacted for more information.
