A Tunbridge Wells boy has been charged after a young man was stabbed in the neck on a train at High Brooms.

The 18-year-old victim was flown to King's College Hospital, in London, on Friday night.

Now a 16-year-old boy has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm - wounding with intent - possession of a bladed article in a public place and assaulting a police officer.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court today and was remanded in custody until Thursday.

Police and ambulance crews were called to High Brooms station at 11.55pm following reports the teenager had suffered a wound to his neck.

As many as nine patrol cars and a dog unit were reported to have attended the station near Tunbridge Wells.

An air ambulance was also called and flew the man to hospital, where his injuries were said to be non life-threatening.

An air ambulance spokesman confirmed medics had treated a stab wound, but no arrests have yet been made.
