An Indian street festival will take place this weekend, featuring traditional food, clothes, henna and dance.

The new event, in Maidstone, will be hosted by Masala Street Food and will run from 9am until 6pm on Sunday at Lockmeadow.

People will be able to get henna tattoos

It will be the second of a trio of summer sessions run by the council at the entertainment centre this month.

Cllr Claudine Russell, cabinet member for communities, leisure and arts said: “We were so pleased by the phenomenal buzz of the Thai Festival at Lockmeadow Entertainment Centre last weekend.

“Maidstone Borough Council is keen to continue this exciting events programme and celebrate cultural diversity in our town.”
