Suspect arrested after man is alleged to have exposed himself in Brenchley Gardens, Maidstone

A pensioner has been arrested after a man allegedly exposed himself in a busy park full of families.

The incident happened in Brenchley Gardens in the centre of Maidstone at around 2pm yesterday.

Police were called after a man sitting on a bench is said to have "committed an indecent act" in the park.

Sgt Andrew Ferguson said: "We understand there were a number of families in the park at the time and we would like to speak to anybody who witnessed a man acting suspiciously or indecently."

A local man in his 70s was later arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and was released pending further investigation.
