A property owner who converted a family home into a house of multiple occupation (HMO) without permission is now seeking approval or the scheme.

Herramun Oozager is applying now to Maidstone council, although the work at 221 Loose Road in Maidstone was actually completed last April.

The house in Loose Road has already been converted to an HMO

The unauthorised conversion only came to light when Mr Oozager applied in May to Maidstone council to take seven tenants from its housing list.

Plans show a total of 10 bedrooms, three kitchens and three bathrooms, although Mr Oozageer is only applying for permission for a seven-bedroom HMO, because, he says, he will continue to live in the annex to the property, using three bedrooms, one kitchen and one bathroom for himself.

Details of the application can be reviewed here.

Application number 23/503537 refers.
