Two parrots were killed when a fire broke out at a bungalow in Maidstone.

Emergency services were sent to the property in Claygate at 5pm.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and put out the blaze. It was then discovered that two parrots had died.

The fire is thought to have started in the lounge and an investigation into the cause is now underway.
