Eyes are on Pegasus gymnast Courtney Tulloch after he landed an award previously won by Olympic diver Tom Daley.

The 17-year-old, pictured, beat more than 1,700 young British athletes to win SportAid’s One to Watch Award at a ceremony in London on Wednesday night.

Tulloch, who won two gold medals at the European Junior Championships this year, said: "I was surprised just to be nominated when I heard Tom Daley was a previous winner as I would never associate my name with somebody like that.

"It was a real shock to win it but it’s motivated me a lot to think people are going to be looking out for me in the future.

"It could put pressure on me but I’m feeling confident after a good year.

"It’s one year at a time and my next goal is to be selected for Team GB for the Youth Olympics in Australia in January."
