Police called to The Mall in Maidstone after concerns for man on roof

Police were called to a town centre shopping centre after concerns for a man spotted on the roof.

Officers were called to the The Mall in King Street, Maidstone, at around 4.30pm yesterday evening.

The man, who appears to be quite young, was spotted sitting on top of the multi-storey building, sparking worry among people walking below.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 4.30pm on Tuesday, regarding reports of concern for a man in King Street, Maidstone.

"Officers spoke to the man and at around 5pm he was handed into the care of health professionals."

The Mall has also been approached for more information.
