A police car heading through Allington on Saturday was involved in a collision with another vehicle.

The marked car was travelling along London Road at just before 1pm when it was involved in the crash at the traffic lights by Poplar Grove.

Two officers and the driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and were treated by paramedics at the scene.

The road was closed at the junction and reopened at 1.50pm.

Police have said no further action will be taken against either party.

The police car was on its way to an incident in East Malling, but another patrol vehicle, which was nearer, dealt with it instead.
