Maidstone murder trial: Jury shown Chaucer House, Knightrider Street, where Wesley Adyinka died

The jury in the Knightrider Street murder trial have visited the area where a 37-year-old man died after an alleged drugs battle.

They spent around 20 minutes visiting Chaucer House, in Maidstone, where a confrontation had taken place in the days leading up to the death of Wesley Adyinka.

Judge Adele Williams, prosecutor Richard Barraclough QC four defence barristers and court staff were also present for the visit, after police officers had sealed off the area.

Members of the jury were shown to the entrance of the building and around the site before heading back to the court.

Police officers prevented the public from going inside the gates of Chaucer House while the visit was taking place.

Earlier, the jury had been shown a dramatic 13 minute video of the incident in which Mr Adyinka was allegedly stabbed to death in a revenge attack in Knightrider Street, Maidstone.

Mr Barraclough QC told Maidstone Crown Court: "This (case) is all to do with drug dealing, the expansion of drug dealing territories and the desire for power and control in Maidstone by London drug dealers."

Kevin Roach, 40, of Peace Close, South Croydon; Alfie Caparn, 18, from Streatham, south London; Rodney Harris, 38, of Mann Close, Croydon; and Julian Grant, 28, of Tull Street, Mitcham have all denied murdering Mr Adyinka on February 9 and wounding Amanda Francis with intent.
