Police are investigating after a man in his 60s was reportedly knocked unconscious by bike-riding robbers by the side of the River Medway.

The man was walking along the towpath near Clifford Way, Maidstone, when two men cycled past him at speed towards the town centre as he approached the Tovil bridge.

This caused the man to jump to one side, and he shouted at the cyclists before continuing to walk away.
