Police appeal launched after pensioner hit by lorry at junction of King Street and Church Street, Maidstone

Officers are looking for witnesses following a crash which left a man in his 90s with serious injuries.

A white lorry hit a pedestrian at around 2pm yesterday and the air ambulance, fire crews, ambulances, and police officers were called.

It happened at the junction of King Street and Church Street in Maidstone.

The road was shut for police investigations.

He was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A cordon on the roads, between the Maidstone Link building and the exit to the Chequers car park, was in place until 6.25pm.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is now investigating.

An appeal has been launched.
