A 30-year-old teacher at a Kent grammar school has been suspended pending a police investigation, it has been revealed.

Matthew John Raisbeck, a teacher at Invicta Grammar School in Huntsman Lane in Maidstone, has not been charged with any offence.

Police refused to give details of the investigation into Mr Raisbeck who lives at Cheriton near Folkestone.

A spokeswoman for Kent County Council said: "I can confirm that a teacher from Invicta Grammar School has been suspended pending a police investigation."
