Missing emu – called Rodney – found by police after going on the run in Loose, near Maidstone

An emu was reported on the loose...in Loose this afternoon.

Police were alerted after the animal – kept as a pet - escaped from a nearby property in Loose, near Maidstone.

Called Rodney, the emu’s brief adventure ended happily with him being spotted by police and returned to his home.

A spokesman for police said: “At around 1.10pm officers on patrol in Maidstone assisted with returning an emu that had escaped from a residential property in the Loose area.”
