Police have revisited the scene of a medical incident this afternoon.

Multiple emergency vehicles were called to Albion Place Medical Centre on Sittingbourne Road yesterday.

It has emerged that a boy aged 11 had a medical emergency, but it is as yet unclear what the circumstances surrounding this incident were.

The Maidstone surgery closed while crews dealt with the boy, and remained shut for the rest of the day.

This morning a statement was issued on its website about the "major medical incident".

It said: "The surgery is aware of considerable speculation regarding events that occurred on October 12.

"We wish to clarify that the doctors and surgery paramedic were involved in the resuscitation of a very sick patient.

"We await news of our patient, who was airlifted to Tunbridge Wells Hospital. Our thoughts are with the patient’s family. We ask that people respect that this is a most difficult time for the family involved."

A police spokesman said yesterday that officers were there to assist ambulance staff, and it is as yet unclear as to why officers have returned today.

There has been no fresh incident on Sittingbourne Road that officers have been called to.
