Plain clothes police officers search house in Hawkwood, Maidstone

Police officers wearing stab vests have escorted a man away from a suburban house following an early morning search of the property.

Around eight officers, who were wearing plain clothes beneath their vests, entered the Maidstone home shortly before 7am.

A search of the detached building, in Hawkwood, is currently being conducted.

Unmarked police cars and a black police van are currently at the scene.

It is believed that a search warrant has been executed but the precise reasons why are not yet known.
