UK Power Network engineers working to restore power to parts of Maidstone left without electricity

Parts of Maidstone have been left without electricity following a power cut this afternoon.

UK Power Network reported the problems at 4.21pm and have sent engineers to investigate the outage.

Residents in Tovil, Farleigh, Coxheath and Hunton are believed to be affected by the issue.

Those without power took to social media:

A spokesman for the company said: "There is currently a power cut in the area. Our engineers are working hard to fix it as quickly as possible.

"We are sorry for the trouble this may have caused you."

The power company were keeping those affected up-to-date via Twitter.

Residents reported power was switched back on at 5.30pm.
