An investigation is underway after a derelict building went up in flames.

Firefighters in five fire engines and a height vehicle, police officers and ambulance crews were all called to Northumberland Road in Maidstone at around 11.20pm last night.

The blaze, which was in a two-storey house, is believed to have originated on the ground floor and spread to the first floor and the roof, which was completely destroyed.
