A prolific shoplifter stole more than £1,600 worth of DVDs on just one visit from a shop in Fremlin Walk.
Christopher Blaber, 31, took 21 of the discs during one visit to the shop – believed to be HMV.
On a second visit, also last month, he put 57 DVDs into a bag – a haul that came to £1,670.31.
He pleaded guilty to seven counts of shoplifting and one of failing to surrender to custody when he appeared before magistrates in Medway.
The court heard how in October Blaber, of Pier Road, Gillingham, stole discs worth approximately £300 from a shop in Greenhithe and later that month and in November he stole items worth approximately £500 and £200 from a shop in Royal Victoria Place, Tunbridge Wells.
He then visited the Maidstone store over two days. There were also thefts from a store in Thanet.
Magistrates heard that Blaber stole more than £4,154 worth of DVDs during his spree.
They imposed a 210 day prison sentence for all the offences, but because he was already on a suspended sentence, he was actually jailed for 450 days.
