A rally against proposals to build new homes will take place on Thursday, July 3.

The New Allington Action Group will be outside Maidstone Town Hall, in Jubilee Square, to protest against plans to build 500 homes on land off of Hermitage Lane from 5.30pm.

At 6pm that day Maidstone council's planning committee will meet to discuss an application for outline permission to build 53 homes on the site of the former nurses home, close to Maidstone Hospital.

It will not be the first time the New Allington Action Group have met outside the Town Hall to let their thoughts be known

While discussing the application they will also discuss terms for a 106 agreement between the developer and local government.

These are designed to ensure there is some community benefit to new developments.
