After months of work, Maidstone's Lockmeadow complex will unveil its shiny new look with a shining star today.

The Barker Road venue has been refurbished over recent months, and will officially be opening to the public this lunchtime.

If that isn't exciting enough, there will also be a guest appearance from former TOWIE star Samantha Faiers in the afternoon.

The star of The Mummy Diaries recently published a book, My Baby and Me, will be meeting fans between 1pm and 3pm.

Organisers recommend getting in the queue early if you want to meet her.

There will be events throughout the day between midday and 5pm, and there will also be prizes up for grabs for those who spin the wheel of fortune.
