A road has now reopened and bus services have resumed following a crash.
Commuters experienced delays heading home via the A229 Linton Road northbound, after a collision at the junction with Heath Road in Loose near Maidstone.
KCC Highways reported that Heath Road was “blocked completely eastbound from the junction”.
They also warned drivers to expect delays in the area and to use alternative routes.
Police were called at 4.19pm to a report of a collision involving two cars.
At the time, a spokesperson from the force said: “Officers are at the scene and no injuries are believed to have been reported.
“Traffic is heaver in the area due to the incident. Motorists should avoid it if they can.”
Arriva posted a message on X, formerly known as Twitter, advising customers that bus Service 89 had been affected.
It said: “Due to an RTC at Linton Corner we are currently unable to turn right onto Heath Road and serve Coxheath as the accident is blocking the turning onto Heath Road.
“Apologies for this currently – this is beyond our control.”
At around 6pm, the accident was cleared and the road reopened. Arriva confirmed that bus services had resumed in the area.
The emergency services have been contacted for more information.
