A busy bus service is set for a diversion as a major road is resurfaced.

Arriva has announced a route diversion on its 101 Maidstone service, for up to ten days, as a result of works taking place on Blue Bell Hill.

From March 10, the number 101, which serves Gillingham to Maidstone, will see all Maidstone-bound journeys diverted after 8pm.

The 101 service which serves Maidstone and Gillingham is set for a diversion during roadworks

As part of the diversion, the service will join the M2 coastbound coming off at the exit for Detling Hill towards Maidstone.

The 101 will then run along the M20 Londonbound to re-join the normal line of the route on the A229 at the running horse junction.

Lauren Edmonds, marketing manager for Arriva Kent and Surrey, said: “Firstly we would like to apologise to passengers for any inconvenience caused by these road works.

“At Arriva our customers are important to us and that is why we wanted to make them aware of this diversion ahead of time.”
