People of all ages were glowing with pride as they crossed the finish line to support children battling life-changing illnesses.

Dozens of runners and walkers wore their brightest outfits and accessories as they raced through Maidstone’s Mote Park last Friday, raising £6,000 for the charity chYps.

The 5km Glow Night Run started at 7pm, with people gathering along the LED-lit route to show their support as flashes of neon whizzed past.

Lynsey and Jenne take part

Money raised from the evening will help the organisation, part of Ellenor-Lions Hospices, to continue to provide care at home for youngsters undergoing treatment for life-threatening conditions. It also helps families by arranging respite care and grief counselling.

All of the runners who took part in the colourful fundraiser were provided with glow stick bands and received goody bags as well as a certificate at the end.
