A salon has reopened in a new premises following an £8,000 refurbishment after being turfed out of its old site at short notice.
The Hair and Beauty Boutique was told in February it had three months to move its parlor, inside the David Lloyd Club, in Maidstone, as the gym was permanently closing.
Owner Nicola Rose had been renting her salon space from the fitness and leisure business.
But due to the company's decision to leave the building, she was given three months to vacate the property – by May 31.
The gym, which also has a pool and spa, announced it was "with deep regret" it was shutting its branch next to Lockmeadow Entertainment Centre, five months ago.
But, speaking at the time, Nicola, from Rochester, said her business had been “overlooked” as she was left searching for a new home last minute.
The salon has since secured a new premises in a former office at The Master’s House, in College Road, Maidstone.
Nicola said: “We cried a lot when we found out we would have to move. We were shocked and panicked and did not think we had long enough to find somewhere new.
“We spent day and night searching many venues. We were looking for somewhere that had a longer lease so that we would not need to move again.”
The hairdresser, who has owned the boutique for 14 years, has now spent around £8,000 refurbing her new salon, near All Saints Church.
“Since reopening, it has been going really well,” she added. “Our new building has character. It was an old office so we have had to re-do it.
“It was never an option to close. We all wanted to stay together and now want our customers to know where we are.”
The Hair and Beauty Boutique celebrated its new home last month.
