A savvy shopper has taken advantage of the post-Easter sales by picking up dozens of bags of chocolate coins - all for just 1p each.

Hannah Jones spotted bags of Co-op's own brand dairy-free coins while shopping in the convenience store's branch in Week Street, Maidstone on Sunday.

Shops and supermarkets have slashed the prices of many chocolate goods since Easter came to a close at the end of last month, but Hannah describes the scale of this discovery as her best yet.

The packets, weighing 60g, usually cost £1.25 each, meaning she saved an incredible £54.56 on what she would have spent if they were full price.

The 26-year-old, who works as a kitchen assistant in the town, is a frequent bargain hunter and shared her success with a specialist group on social media, where thousands of others compare cheap shopping secrets.

She said: "I have been doing it for quite a few years but this has been probably the best find.

"I once got a dress from Dorothy Perkins for 2p because it was priced wrong but they had to sell it for that.

"I usually get reduced food at the moment as I’m living in my flat with my boyfriend and on a budget."
