A serial thief has admitted stealing £4,400 worth of toothbrushes, make up and champagne.
Robert Thompson admitted a plethora of offences in Maidstone on Friday, adding to the 181 offences he’d already committed.
Between January and August this year the 44-year-old stole toothbrushes and razors from Superdrug stores in Maidstone and Chatham, make up from Wilko in Sittingbourne, and painkillers from Sainsbury's in Whitstable.
His seven month crime spree included an £1,100 haul of razor blades from Waitrose in Tonbridge and three bottles of Champagne from Marks and Spencer in Rochester.
Homeless Thompson admitted to 12 counts of theft, one count of assault, damaging a cell door while in custody in March and failing to comply with post-custody supervision requirements.
His appearance at Maidstone Magistrates Court today came less than 18 months after he was released from prison for similar offences.
Sending the case to Maidstone Crown Court, district judge Paul Goldspring told Thompson he likely faced a prison sentence of more than a year.
To date Thompson has 42 convictions for 181 offences. A total of 145 offences relate to dishonesty.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court. No date for trial was set.
