Kent rock band Slaves have been forced to cancel their UK tour owing to the serious illness of a family member.

The duo - guitarist Laurie Vincent and drummer/singer Isaac Holman - were on their biggest headline tour to date when they were forced to make the decision. They had been due to headline the 2,000-capacity Dome in Brighton tonight.

Laurie, who grew up in Maidstone, posted a message to fans on Facebook saying the family member needed to undergo surgery and he needed to support them.

He added: "I thought we would be able to cope and I could get through this tour. However, their condition has rapidly deteriorated.

"I simply cannot leave my family at this time to do this tour. Our amazing team are working on a plan for 2020 to reschedule these shows. I promise to give you the show of our lives once my family is on the mend."

Slaves raw brand of punk rock has seen them earn two Top 10 albums, and consistently sell-out venues including London's Brixton Academy, O2 Forum and two dates at Shepherds Bush Empire.
